Recommend me a proper winter quilt!

I've treated myself to some posh bedding and the current quilt I have just looks limp, floppy and rubbish!

I want something warm but I want it to actually completely fill the duvet cover, if that makes sense?

I have a baavet, it's very good.

Authenticcelestialmusic · 31/10/2018 20:17

BAavet here too! Try the baaargain bin on their website. If you can wait til new year their sale was good last year (or it may have been the year before).

I have this one from asda - so cosy and puffy.Grin

I have a wool one from soak and sleep.

Another one with a baavet - really snuggly and warm in winter but somehow stops you overheating in summer.

NannyR · 31/10/2018 20:30

Definitely a baavet! I have a lightweight one and a blanket on my bed at the moment - my bedroom was 12 degrees this morning and I was toasty warm. The same duvet is also comfortable in the summer when the bedroom is 22-23 degrees.

MrsChollySawcutt · 31/10/2018 20:33

Wool duvet all the way.

Marks and Spencer goose down is awesome - changed our lives

Soak and Sleep Hungarian Goose Down, spendy but so worth it.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 01/11/2018 08:06

We have an all-seasons goose down (not the most expensive kind) from John Lewis. The 2 buttoned together are wonderfully warm and light in winter. Had it for years now - each part goes to the laundry in turn as seasons change.

booklover21 · 01/11/2018 08:17

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER We bought the exact same one last night! Put the two together and it felt like sleeping under a puffy cloud mountain. Ended up a bit overly hot in the night so will remove the 4.5 tog to leave just the 9 tog for now.

@RedCoffins like you our new bedding looked very sorry for itself but now it looks lovely and plush!

booklover21 · 01/11/2018 08:18

Whoops! Our old bedding looked sorry for itself.

MrsChollySawcutt · 01/11/2018 09:18

With a wool duvet you don't need to faff about with different sections for each season. You also don't get too hot as it is temperature regulating.
