Anyone know off hand how much it costs to "stretch"/extend rings that have got too tight?

How long is a piece of string?

Depends what material the ring is, how thick it is and whether they can stretch it or whether they need to use more, etc etc.

I found an amazing local jewellery maker on my local facebook page who was so helpful, most of the little independent ones are!

They are 9 carat gold wedding/engagement/ eternity. Slightly under 2mm wide.
Will ask in local jewellers. Just wondered if anyone had a rough idea of they'd done similar recently

I don't know about stretching but I was quoted £120 to take my platinum engagement ring up 2 sizes

Thanks. Maybe it would be cheaper to try and slim back into the current ring size. Grin

My mother got her gold wedding ring stretched about half a size recently. It was an independent jeweller and he refused payment. She went and bought him a few cakes to say thanks.

I had a 9ct gold 5 diamond ring made 2 sizes larger this year. I hadn't worn the ring for about 20 years due to weight gain. I had it altered at a small, independent jewellers as they do the work on the premises. They managed to keep the hallmark and also cleaned the ring. It cost £60. I was very pleased.
