Mattress toppers

Hello!

I bought a new mattress recently to help with lower back pain. I chose a med/firm one but it’s still too soft for the support I need. I was thinking of buying a firm mattress topper but before I do I wanted to know if it’s worth spending the money on?

Has a mattress topper worked well for anyone?

Thanks!

If you get a mattress topper, you need to ensure that you can get a sheet that will envelop the mattress and topper. Otherwise it'll skid around on the bed.

We have a futon on top of our mattress. I can't sleep on a sprung mattress as they're always too soft. The futon is quite firm and very comfortable.

Thanks for your replies! Good thought about the sheet, if I buy one tomorrow i’ll get a deep sheet too!

Last night I slept on a price of wood which was actually ok! I’ll check out the prices and see if it’s worth a try.

We wanted toppers for our motorhome and one of the beds in the house and went to an industrial estate foam supplier/cutters. It was much, much cheaper, is the same stuff, and they cut to size. You can also choose any firmness you like (they'll recommend based on what you need).
