Has anyone had a flu jab yet and if Yes, any reaction to it?

Had one last year, no after effects at all. However, I understand this is a new improved version that may make you feel a bit off. Has anyone had it yet?

We had ours at the end of September and had a sore arm and felt a bit off for the rest of the day, but that was all.

PiperPublickOccurrences · 30/10/2018 17:22

Had mine a fortnight ago.

Slight achy arm and that was it. No other symptoms.

duffed · 30/10/2018 17:24

My arm was red, raised and very sore (would wake up with a yelp if I lay on it), but passed after four days. think it was a minor allergic reaction. It's my first time and I always seem to react to vaccines in some way.

actual injection was over and done with very quickly

I had it at the start of the month and had a rather sore arm. But I also had a pneumonia jab that day, which is rather more notorious for leading to soreness, so I don’t know which it was or both. Settled down in a day or two.

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 30/10/2018 17:25

I had mine about a month ago - stung going in and was tender for a week - no ill effects though .

MamaHechtick · 30/10/2018 17:25

Both me and DH had ours yesterday. Both have a sore arm, him more so of course.
I felt strangely nauseous after and today but could be a coincidence as I have a lot of stress at the moment anyway.

CherryBlossom23 · 30/10/2018 17:27

Had it at the start of the month. Had a red, hot to touch mark around the injection site for about two days and my arm was sore to lie on the first night. Nothing apart from that. My OH had it last week and had nothing!

IvorHughJarrs · 30/10/2018 17:27

I had mine a few weeks back. Sneezed about 6 times straight after which was clearly unrelated but amused the nurses then nothing at all

MadisonAvenue · 30/10/2018 17:29

I had it a few weeks ago and had no reaction, I usually get a painful arm for a few days afterwards but that only lasted a day this time and wasn’t as bad as usual. I had to go back for a pneumonia immunisation the following week and mentioned that to the nurse and she commented that she hoped it had ‘taken’ okay seeing as my arm hadn’t hurt much.

wizzler · 30/10/2018 17:32

I had one two weeks ago. No reaction other than arm a little sore for two days.

Stephisaur · 30/10/2018 17:33

Made me a bit drowsy. Arm wasn’t sore at all :)

EwItsAHooman · 30/10/2018 17:33

I had a sore arm for a few days and was a bit shivery and had temperature and headache overnight but I usually react in that way, it's just an immune response and I was fine the next day. Pharmacist said it takes up to three weeks for it to become fully effective.

Sleepyblueocean · 30/10/2018 17:34

Aching arm for a few hours. I asked for it in my left arm as I usually get aching.

NewBabyNoName · 30/10/2018 17:38

Had mine a few weeks ago, sore arm for a couple of days but otherwise fine.

flamingofridays · 30/10/2018 17:39

Had it last week. Feel fine.

Felt like shit afterwards last year. Arm hurt last year too. This time was tender for about 24hrs. Now fine.

Asmallrole · 30/10/2018 17:47

I just had a red warm tender area on my arm for a couple of days.
But 36 hours after the jab, I woke up in the early hours in a hot sweat, went to the loo and sat there thinking I feel so hot and I have headache, what's wrong ? Remembered the jab, went back to sleep and just had a mild headache in the morning.

IdahoCrow · 30/10/2018 17:52

@Flower777 No, fear not, the injection itself doesn't hurt at all. Had mine this morning, feel fine so far.

Floralnomad · 30/10/2018 17:54

Had mine about 10 days ago with no after effects at all .

Pebblespony · 30/10/2018 17:57

Got mine Friday. Sore arm with red, sore patch. It was fine.

longwayoff · 30/10/2018 17:57

Thank you everyone, that's excellent news. Just have to find somewhere that's got it in stock and I'll be set for winterSmile

Yes. No real reaction except a slightly sore muscle at the point of entry.

FlamingJuno · 30/10/2018 18:01

Had it two weeks ago, same result as mimsy. Much less soreness than in previous years.

ImTakingTheEssence · 30/10/2018 18:02

Had mine yesterday saw arm, stiff neck.
I have felt sick today though and have a red patch where needles been.

Sparklingbrook · 30/10/2018 18:03

No reaction to mine at all.

SpaceCadet4000 · 30/10/2018 18:04

Slightly sore arm, nothing else.
