Things that are better in your head than real life!

All day i have been really craving a pizza. You know that sort of craving where you can almost taste it. So I decided to treat the kids and me to one. It was such a let down the taste in my head was so much better than what it actually tasted like.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I always look at the cosy glow coming from pub windows and wish that I could go in for tea. The ambience is never the same inside though, and often the food is disappointing.

MrsJonesAndMe · 29/10/2018 21:01

craft or baking with small children - never like I imagine it!

Sorry the pizza wasn't as expected/hoped!

Hopskipjumping · 29/10/2018 21:03

Arts and crafts with the kids.

In my head we will all sit nicely being creative. In reality they make an absolute mess and it's torture. I tried to paint with them at the weekend. Toddler threw a tantrum, got paint in her eye, screamed for an hour and still has black paint residue around her eye that she wont let me near.

Any type of interesting sex.

Jamhandprints · 29/10/2018 21:06

Instant coffee. Don't know why I bother, it's never good.

VioletCharlotte · 29/10/2018 21:08

Cocktails. Love the idea, but they're massively overrated.

Bunnyhop1502 · 29/10/2018 21:09

Proper snogging!

Dawsonforehead · 29/10/2018 21:09

Fish and chips.
The weekend, always more stressful than in my head

Donthugmeimscared · 29/10/2018 21:11

I'm with you on doing craft or coming with children. Can i add to that pumpkin carving tried to do some yesterday with my 13, 10 and 8 yr old who all somehow turned into miserable toddlers because they weren't going right and he/she had the tool the other wanted.

Bubble baths with wine and candles.

The wine goes lukewarm to quickly and I end up tidal-waving and extinguishing the candle, leaving me to dodge hot wax whilst I try to clamber out in the dark and find the light switch whilst avoiding going arse over tit.

Chinese takeaway. Never tastes as good as imagined and gives me a raging thirst for hours after.

Doing a roast dinner.....always up with me yelling at the end getting frustrated when I'm dishing up.

Movie nights in....popcorn, icecream...cuddles...ends up us trying to decide on a film for 90 mins and then just sticking with what's on TV

Poshsausage · 29/10/2018 21:26

Balayage
Just looks like growing out sun in

GlasgowWorrier · 29/10/2018 21:29

Cupcakes. They taste “American” in my imagination - somehow lighter and more fabulous and fun - but in reality taste exactly like the fairy cakes I can knock out at home.

WeeMadArthur · 29/10/2018 21:29

Most chocolate these days, I blame palm oil Sad

FawnDrench · 29/10/2018 21:35

The Brits since about 2009...

Bunnybigears · 29/10/2018 21:38

Stollen. In my mind lovely and light and moist and marzipanny in reality mostly dry amd not enough marzipan.

Kokapetl · 29/10/2018 21:40

Baths!

I always imaging them to be all luxurious but actually in a normal sized tub they are just not that comfy- always a foot or knee sticking out and either too hot or too cold for most of the time. Showers are much better, especially when washing hair.

LBOCS2 · 29/10/2018 21:44

Going to bed early to snuggle up and watch a film.

I get too hot. It's uncomfortable sitting up/laying down. I don't want my bra off if I'm still up and about, but I don't want it on if I'm going to bed. DH invariably falls asleep. I can't lay on my side and still watch it. If I drink wine reclined I get heartburn. It's just all rubbish really.
