Did I have a period?

Good morning everyone.

Here goes, I stopped my contraception pill on the 1st August & had my withdrawal bleed then I have had nothing since.

However this week on wed, thurs & friday. I have had ulsers, tummy pain and spotting however I'm unsure if it was spotting or a very light first period.

I spoke to my Dr last month about still not having a period since stopping & she said it was normal as it can take up to six months to a year for body to regulate.

So basically I'm wondering if anyone has experience anything similar & if you think it was a light first period or just a few days of spotting. I've had a pregnancy test done so I know I'm not pregnant.

Any advice or opinions would be much appreciated.

My sister didn't have one for about a year after coming off the pill. I had my first proper period roughly 3 or 4 weeks after my last withdrawal period when I came off the pill. Was gutted as I thought they would take ages to start again as I had been in the pill for over 20 years. Loved being on the pill because of the control it gave me over my periods but the doc was keen for me to come off it due to my age and being a smoker.

Aww bless you. Well I get married in 18 days & hoping I did have a period and not just spotting as we want to try for a baby on our honeymoon. I was on the pill for 14 years

That sounds more like spotting than a light period; or maybe a withdrawal bleed?

I was on the pill for 15 years ish and came off in May; first period was end of June and it's mostly been pretty regular since then. I'm not trying to get pregnant though!

I've already had my withdrawal bleed I had that week after stopping and I've had nothing since coming on to about 85 days now.
I'm sure it will happen eventually Dr said there is nothing to worry about just yet as it's still early days
