Peckish and found it (forgot it was there) while rummaging through the fridge looking for something to eat. It does say to use within three days, but cheese is fine long after right?

Oh, it’ll be fine.

Can I have some? Grin 🧀

I get twitchy when blue cheese starts growing other colours of mould but will still usually just cut that bit off. Before that I wouldn't even consider how old it is.

Fine, my French DH even eats the extra mouldy bits and never gets ill.

When I rule the world, the instruction 'use within X days/weeks' will be outlawed as it causes so much perfectly good food to be wasted.

Almost without exception this instruction can be ignored and the product will be absolutely fine for many times more than the three days or whatever. That cheese will have sat growing mould for weeks or months, so I don't know what could happen to it in a few days once opened.

Maybe they should start teaching people how to use logic and their eyes and nose to assess food freshness and ignore nonsense instructions that would only apply in the most extreme circumstances (maybe if your fridge wasn't working properly, the cheese wasn't wrapped up and you cut some of the cheese off with a dirty knife, then it might go bad in 3 days, otherwise, no).

Well I wouldnt but thats because I refuse to eat anything that smells like a sweaty mans butt crack, and the whole "looks ok, smells ok" thing doesnt work either as it doesnt and it doesnt!

However, if I was the weirdo who eats blue cheese then yes, yes it will.
