Just fancied toast and theres no bread in the house.

I'll forego it tonight but it'll be good to have bread for the morning so I need help, if anyone knows...?

I heard that you can make dough and then leave it in the tin overnight. How so? I have strong white flour, dried active yeast that needs activating in water, sugar, salt and a 2lb loaf tin.

What I'm hoping for is to make the dough, plonk it into the loaf tin, leave in fridge until the morning and then transport it from there into hot oven. Is this possible and is there a failsafe recipe? I haven't made bread in years. Years! Blush

I've had to take the small ones to bed so missed my window to rustle something up.
Never mind.
I have in laws visiting in the afternoon so I think I'll try bread the usual way and it'll be ready for when they come. I've never met a person yet who doesn't enjoy fresh baked bread, butter, jam and marmalade.
Thanks for the link. I'll save it anyway but I'll use an Allrecipes recipe for what I'll attempt tomorrow.
