Teething and sickness!

Can teething cause a tummy bug?!
My DS has been a bit off it today he's been sick and had diarrhoea? I'm really concerned

I think teething can give babies the trots.
Something to do with the amount of excess saliva they are producing (I think )

Both my dc had diarrhoea when they were teething.
