Westonbirt School or Beaudesert Park School? (hear awful things about the mums!)

So we went to both open days and we’re impressed. Westonbirt is only a 6 minute drive so we’re heavily leaning towards sending our child there. However Beaudesert has incredible facilities!! Yet, I hear terrible things about the Beaudesert mums from students that go there, as well as other parents and pretty much anyone you mention Beaudesert too. They “descend” onto local villages and can be about rude from what I gather?

Is it stupid to avoid a school with such a terrible reputation regarding the parents? Sounds like a future headache!

longwayoff, sorry, I don’t mean to offend you! I imagine not all the Beaudesert mums are that bad.

I know a beaudesert mum and she’s lovely.

I’ve not heard of them “descending” anywhere!

The only negative I’ve heard/know about is that you can get quite rude SUV drivers as in they can be quite entitled on the roads, but I think that is an SUV driver problem generally rather than a beaudesert parent problem specifically.

Friends of ours have looked at both and gone for Westonbirt. If I was choosing I’d go for Westonbirt. No evidence of school gate snobbery as far as I’m aware, both are excellent and I know nice parents at both, but if it helps I know of a Beaudesert dad who dropped off his children one morning by helicopter!

I know a lot of Beaudesert parents and yes, the majority are very wealthy but they are all really nice people. The school is lovely and the children really thrive there.

Would you really select a school based on gossip about parents? They're a group of people who send their children to the same school, not a homogenous mass with identical characteristics. Anyway, back to the point. No idea as I've never heard of either school. You might get more responses on your local area board.

I went to W'birt 20 odd years ago. It's in the middle of a cow field - there's no chance to descend on anywhere!
