Posted this in travel but never seem to get replies.
We are looking at booking centreparcs for the first time. Happy to travel wherever really. So wondered what MNs think is the nicest centreparcs designation. I know that can be very subjective. I mean in terms of cleanliness / good facilities/ staff etc. Also is there any you would avoid.
We were leaning towards Sherwood but I have been told the pool isn't as nice there. The pool is definitely somewhere we plan to visit afew times so this has made me rethink.
Thanks

There doing up the pool at sherwood - so I would check when that’s done. Been to sherwood and elvedon. To me there was more ducks near the lodge more little ponds I think at sherwood than elvedon but there was deer at elvedon which there wasn’t at sherwood

My favourites are Winfell and Woburn

Kempervennen in the Netherlands. Otters, deer, petting farm with goats, pigs and rabbits etc. Real snow indoor ski slope with cheap lessons. Great value activities. Cheaper than UK even including eurotunnel. Fab Lidl on the doorstep. I would never go to a UK parc after staying at Kempervennen!

I've been to Sherwood and Whinfell. I personally prefer Whinfell but the rapids at the pool at Sherwood are bigger and has more slides. I find Whinfell cleaner and there seem to be lots more staff vehicles at Sherwood that you have to move for. Sherwood I found had more soft play areas. Whinfell has red squirrels and alot more hilly. If your planning on hiring bikes, you can bike from Sherwood to Sherwood Pines.

I've only been to Elvedon but loved it. The pool was fab and it's all very flat which was great for cycling (which we did a lot of). The staff were lovely and I found the whole place very clean. We stayed in an executive lodge but I thought the cheaper places looked like they needed a bit of updating (that was only from the outside though).

Woburn is the newest and nicest in my opinion. Went to Sherwood a couple of years ago and it all felt quite tired. Similar at Longleat.

adaline · 28/10/2018 13:07

The last time I was at Elveden it just felt old and tired and a bit grubby. I also caught conjunctivitis!

I wouldn't go back.

Shelley54 · 28/10/2018 13:12

I’ve been to Longleat, Woburn and Sherwood. They all have pros and cons but our overall favourite is Sherwood. We’re off to Elvedon soon so let’s see if it changes our rankings!

Vanventures · 28/10/2018 13:15

If you’re considering going in school holidays, definitely compare price to European parks. We did 4 of the UK parks (all except Longleat) while the kids were pre-school ages but now they’re older, the Dutch parks work best for us, particularly in half terms.
De Kempervennen is brilliant, ski slope on site, snorkelling, kids scuba diving (from 8yrs old). I think activities are cheaper over there too. We’ve also been to Port Zelande twice. Kids love the Segway tour there (from 8 yrs old).

Kemer2018 · 28/10/2018 13:18

Elveden. I loved the spa, i went for the evening 6-9 and the park and pool are a decent size.
I've worked at and enjoyed the facilities at Woburn, but it's not naturised fully yet and that pool is tiny. Slides are good though.

pattyhoo · 28/10/2018 13:28

Been to Sherwood, Elveden and Longleat many times. Sherwood is my favourite! I dislike the steep bike track to the centre at Longleat - it's a pain to get back up on after a long day. I have seen deer at each park too, including Longleat.

TeddyIsaHe · 28/10/2018 13:35

Eleveden! We had a family of squirrels run in through the open double doors and dd thought all her christmases had come at once. Did take us about 5 hours to get them back outside though!

Kezzie200 · 28/10/2018 14:01

Weve only been to Longleat due to location but weve been there loads of times. Main disadvantage is the hills and distances, although the land train is there to take the strain. Spa is best ever that Ive ever been to.

Ribeebie · 28/10/2018 14:19

We've been to sherwood, Longleat and elvedon. Liked sherwood a lot and think that their spa was best.

Longleat is my favourite overall as I prefer the pool and village in general but the distance for cycling and steep tracks didn't really bother us as we cycle a lot at home.

I did not like elvedon. The pool was cold and seemed small and the lodges and public areas were a bit dirty.

notsurewhatshappening · 28/10/2018 14:37

The squirrels story just reminded me- there are loads of red squirrels at Kempervennen and they are really tame! They came right up to the door.
There's a massive lake with a beach, great for playing with the kids and loads of water sports etc. The super zip wire is fab!

flowerpot1000000 · 28/10/2018 14:50

Sherwood because of the pool, kiddues area and rapids. Big lake, sand/beach area

Pandasarecute · 28/10/2018 14:57

Only been to Whinfell but we love it!

PoptartPoptart · 28/10/2018 16:22

Woburn has the best water slides imo but the actual pool area isn’t as spacious as Longleat or Elveden.
