Scary films for 13 year old ds

Want to chill and watch a spooky/scary film with ds this evening. He routinely watches 15 cert films but I’m struggling to think of a good film to watch that’s scary but not too scary. Sci fi/fantasy he’s ok with but not things that are too real. We watched world war z the other day and he wasn’t phased by it at all.

Has he seen Stranger Things?

It's GREAT. My DD is 14 and watched the first series at 13. She was fine and so were her mates. It's great because it's SciFi and about kids your DS age. It's magical for us too as it has connotations of Stephen King movies in the 80s.

The Lost Boys? It’s an oldie but a goodie.

Thanks no not watched. Dh has watched some so will see what he thinks.

The new series of Sabrina is good

The sixth sense? Cloverfield is on sky movies at the moment and is a good one - my DS is 14 and didn't find it too scary.

ChoudeBruxelles · 28/10/2018 11:58

And the reason I’m asking on here is because dh’s suggestions are alien and scream!

I know what you did last summer and the scream films. Loved them at that age!

Ruth2009 · 28/10/2018 15:22

The woman in black. We watched it with 13y/o ds and all enjoyed i, just the right amount of creepy/scary I think

SpoonBlender · 28/10/2018 15:33

Evil Dead II (you don't need to watch I, II is a remake with a budget), it's hilarious. III afterwards.

SpoonBlender · 28/10/2018 15:37

Oh - 2 is an 18 rating, sorry. Could jump straight to III (Army of Darkness) which is a 15.

ChoudeBruxelles · 28/10/2018 16:08

We’ve settled on dog soldiers.

A Quiet Place. Tense thriller rather than horror imo.
