Should I tell her I dated her dad?

I have an acquaintance who I will be doing a freelance project with in coming months. It has happened organically through both of us realising a common interest. The thing is I dated her dad briefly a few months ago and it fizzled out so no animosity or bad blood. He’s also divorced so we are both free agents. I met her last year before meeting her dad separately at a function and hit off, had a fling and now just in very rare text contact. This happened in June and now I’m about to start this project with his daughter who is much younger than me and I suspect sees me as something of a mentor. It sounds like a potentially messy situation if I don’t mention that I know her dad upfront. Or is this our private business and I should carry on as normal?

You can say that you know him without going into specifics. She might not want to know

You can mention it if asked, but it doesn't sound relevant to your work. As Georgie says just keep it vague, no need to say he was hung like a baby's arm holding an apple

They are very well known where I live. He’s an influential businessman in the country.
