Have you heard of the notion that people sometimes die at the same age as their same-sex parent? (Fairly light-hearted)

I'd never heard of this before, but it turns out my mum died at the same age as her mother - quite an early age: 67. A friend told me it's not unusual. I mentioned it at my evening class, and of seven of us, two others said that, on reflection, their father and grandfather had died at the same age. Other classmates were extremely dismissive of this being a thing.

I'm not looking for an argy-bargy, and I hope no-one will take offence, but I'd be intrigued to know if anyone else has heard of this. Also, if you think about it, has it happened with any of your ancestors?

Is anyone still interested in this thread?
I recently read at thing that said the age your mother is when you're born is roughly how long you will live after they die.
This freaked me out completely.
Calculating this the same way for each...
My grandmother died age 64
My mother died 64
If I die 64 and calculate for my daughter hers cones up as 64
Really frwaks me out
Did same on my husband and his came out same age as his mothers death.

My wife died on the same day and the same age as her mother. Eg. Mother died on her 69th year on September 19. Her daughter died 69th year on September 19. How is that possible? I've never heard of that.

Nope. Dad died at 73 and his dad died in his 50s. Mum was 72 and her mum was almost 90.

Nope. My mum died aged 77 and her own mum died age 86.
