Be anyone at any point in time, who and where and when?

I daydream of me back in the 16th century, all Mary Queen of Scots like, of course part of the upper classes and with te beautiful gowns.

I would like hot running water and NHS and central heating.

What about you? Dream with me!

Forever Amber: www.amazon.co.uk/Forever-Amber-Kathleen-Winsor/dp/0141009829?tag=mumsnetforum-21

My favourite book, aged about 14.

NatashaRomanov · 28/10/2018 17:25

@Aridane Definitely!
I know they are not great history, or always great writing, but I do enjoy them.
And she must have got the theories from somewhere, so I would love to know!
Also, were Catherine and Henry Carey children of Henry VIII, was Mary Boelyn involved with the French King before coming back to England, and how did Amy Dudley die?

Aridane · 28/10/2018 17:31

I love Philippa Gregory regardless of historical accuracy

longwayoff · 28/10/2018 17:42

Forever Amber, I avoided it for years believing it to be a Cartlandish bodice ripper. WRONG. That is one modern attitude she has. Recommend.

Amazon basin circa 1450. Just to see the unrecorded cities & culture.

poorpaws · 28/10/2018 21:06

@Dlux you’ve made a good point there 😀

I Would also have loved to have been in London At the time of the Ripper. Again not as a victim but I’d love to know who he was (read up on this for many years and still can’t decide).

South Sea Islands a hundred years ago. Blue skies, hula dancing, hog roasts, fresh fish and a happy relaxed pace of life. Yes please.

Moussemoose · 28/10/2018 21:41

At no point before the invention of anaesthesia.

bumblebee39 · 28/10/2018 21:48

Somewhere in the carribean circa 18 something...
Slaves, masters, ships, Pirates...

America in the 1960's to see Martin Luther King speak, and go to Woodstock

Also Victorian London. I love Dickens and would love to see the reality.

I'd like to be Meghan Markle from the point prior to marrying Harry onwards. I just want to know what it myst be like marrying into royalty
