What’s this rash? *picture included*

When I had DD 2 years ago, I came up in this rash, primarily on my right arm and across my chest, a day or so after birth.

Neither my midwife or GP had any idea what it was, any I slowly stopped getting it after a few months or so.

Ive now got DS 6 months and I’ve started getting it again. I ebf DD and am doing the same for DS, so I guess it could be a hormonal thing. If that was the case though, why wouldn’t it be there constantly for the duration of breastfeeding?!

I’m not concerned at all, just curious if anyone has any ideas?

(Sorry for any typos - I’ve been up with poorly DS since 1am 😬)

Looks like an allergy. Are you taking any medicines or supplements? Using creams/lotions on kids you may be reacting to?

Hi, I had something similar after taking antibiotics for a UTI it covered my arms, bum and legs. It scabbed over and was sore. But my hands remained like your arm.

The nurse said it was contact dermatitis. I got double base cream and it went away

Thank you for your replies Smile

I don’t take any medication except the pill, but I’ve been taking it for nearly 10 years with nothing like this, and wasn’t taking it when I was feeding DD.

I’m also really boring and don’t use anything scented or harsh on my ski because I have a tendency to eczema.
No soreness either - I’m just a weird one

It looks a bit like ringworm but probably not, as stubborn says, Ive also seen a penicillin reaction like that. Have you been gardening? If its not causing other problems see a pharmacist initially.

Does it itch? I'm wondering if it might be something similar to PUPPS? I had PUPPS fairly mildly towards the end of my pregnancy and it got far worse after DS was born so it certainly seems to be hormone related. Odd that it has taken until now to flair up though!
