If you work in hospitality how many steps per day do you rack up?

Long story short. I work in catering, mainly front of house and I reckon I walk miles. I bought a pedometer (the kind that goes on your waistband), which tells me that an 8 hour shift and a mile and a half walk home racks up 27000 steps. DH reckons it's bullshit, I think it's more accurate than he realises and I'm in the mood for being proved right.

Fuck yes, I use to go through a pair of shoes in 3-6 months, I lost A LOT of weight when I moved to doing it full time, and was physically exhausted on my days off.

It is a very high energy job, you don't stop your entire shift!

Does your DH think you're doing less than that? It sounds about right to me. I have an office job and regularly do 17000 steps in a day.

I used to work in that industry. A 12-15hr shift could easily knock up 20-30k steps.

Yes. He went on a 30 minute run today and thinks he's Mo bloody Farah 🤔

I work in a school and usually manage 10-15k in a school day, so I’d not be surprised if you do masses more in hospitality.

Definitely possible, I have done 17000 on a 6 hour shift.

My DH was a chef for a long time, he often used to do in excess of 25K per day
