In less than an hour I turn 40...

Tell me all the wonderful things that you remember/experienced/are experiencing in your forties! Does life really begin at 40 or like my MIL says is it all downhill from here?

I ran out in to the desert and screeched like a maniac for a few hours when I turned 40. Dh and ds were  but it was the making of me.

I came back to camp and hung out with all the different people in different camps and have never felt so at ease with myself.

Something clicked.

I used to suffer from horrendous social anxiety and haven't in a year and a half since I turned 40.

It's the making of a lot of people op.

CONGRATULATIONS

Im42. I've been to places I never have since I was 40. I've walked on Caribbean beaches, sat in cafe del mar watching the sun set, stood in the colosseum and pondered history.

I've just secured my first serious senior post with a massive pay rise.

I could do with losing a few pounds but that's been most of my life. I'm happier with me than I have ever been.
