Is there a secret about yourself that noone knows?

I was thinking earlier.... I have one.

I’m pretty sure I’ll write a book before I die. On what ....I don’t yet know but I have very little internal doubt....

Yet no one knows.

Anyone else got anything similar?
Ps. I have spell checked this time. Think pears of wisdom

Yes and I will never tell. I have an awful amount of guilt around it.

LilMadAgain · 28/10/2018 18:16

Yep, I said it before on here though so fuck it. My sister slept with her step-dad, my mum slept with the father of my sisters children. Sounds like an awful TV soap drama type family but we're not Halo

SuperstarDJ · 28/10/2018 18:18

That I use Mumsnet. No one knows that, not even DH.

spookyspookyspookhole · 28/10/2018 18:21

I have an awful secret from everyone I know. Something I did that was terrible and shocking (not criminal).

Kemer2018 · 28/10/2018 18:22

Yes, 2.

FieryGhoulie · 28/10/2018 18:24

I dint like being told secrets, they are a burden to keep. I come from a large, close family and I've only recently learned that, no actually, I don't want to know a secret. Keep it to yourself. Strangers secrets are fine, but not those of folk I love, they'll tell me themselves if they want me to know.

I'm just learning to keep thoughts to myself too, nothing important, just thoughts - it's fine to do that. It's fine to have secrets.

I told DH who I've been with for 33 years, my worst secret, this summer and he was fantastic, put my mind at ease that it was ok, that I was being hard on myself. I felt like a weight had been lifted. Secrets can hurt too.

longwayoff · 28/10/2018 18:30

Of course. And its staying that wayBlush

longwayoff · 28/10/2018 18:32

Pele get asked this at work? Time for a new job. CFs.

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 28/10/2018 18:35

Thank goodness I had my teenage wild years before Facebook and selfies !! It's harder to have secrets these days !

PumpkinKitty82 · 28/10/2018 18:37

I pawned my ex boyfriends’ mums ring she gave me and used the money to buy a kitten .
No one knows that .. till now

HairyArmpits · 28/10/2018 18:42

Yep and a secret it will stay

lynmilne65 · 28/10/2018 19:16

Every body knows I am a recovering alcoholic!!! ( 34 years ) 🙃

holycityzoo · 28/10/2018 19:19

Yes I have only one other person knows who I haven't seen for ten years.
It relates to something I used to do, illegal and something I'm not particularly proud of.
No one would ever guess.

Stargirl90 · 28/10/2018 19:21

I have a couple of things that even my fiancé and best friend don't know, no one does and probably never will

Oblomov18 · 28/10/2018 19:29

No.
Either My mum or my husband know everything about me.

EscapeToTheMoon · 28/10/2018 19:45

Oh yes! And the other person is keeping their secret too.

Nuffaluff · 28/10/2018 19:46

Yeah, it’s a very common one though, I’m sure.
Everyone thinks I’m straight, but I’m not. I’ve been with my DH since I was very young and I’m happy with him. Never had a same sex relationship or any kind of experience. I won’t either because I’m the faithful type.

ajandjjmum · 28/10/2018 19:55

That must be a tough path at time Nuffaluff.

Speaking to a mental health nurse recently, she said that anyone with a secret should hope they don't get dementia, because it all comes spilling out. I know that it's true from some things that MIL has said to me.

MaMisled · 28/10/2018 19:57

Yes. Two big, unrelated, horrid ones. It would end or change irrepairably, all my relationships with those I love. It's amazing how I can usually keep them at the back of my mind and carry on as normal but I do.

BitchQueen90 · 28/10/2018 20:06

Yes, a couple. Not really awful ones but they are ones I won't ever tell.

Nuffaluff · 28/10/2018 20:36

Sorry ajand, to be clear I am bi, so it’s not tough. Just feels strange to say it - even anonymously!

LaDaronne · 28/10/2018 20:39

I do, but my sister's on here so I'm not telling!

ladybird69 · 28/10/2018 20:44

Yes I have a secret that I will never tell anyone. But because I’m so good at keeping secrets I know quite a few of friends and families secrets too, they know that I will never tell. It sometimes feels like an extra burden though.

Helmetbymidnight · 28/10/2018 20:56

A few things no one knows - and a few secrets - illegal/sexual/family that only a few people know.
If those people ever met and talked about it, that would be grim Grin
Spread your secrets widely - that’s my advice!

AlecTrevelyan006 · 28/10/2018 20:59

Everyone has secrets
