How do you stop Blisteze/Blistex oozing out of the tube all over the place?

As soon as you undo the lid, it's like a worm, suddenly erupting out all over the place. And then you try to get the lid back on & it squishes everywhere. Confused Any ideas how to keep it under control?

Squeeze the tube a little bit along the not squished sides usually works for me (although may not make sense to you!)

I just smear and jam the lid back on as fast as possible. no help at all

MrWolfknowsthetime · 26/10/2018 21:47

Don't ever take it on a plane - it was like a mini Vesuvius erupting when I took the lid off Grin

Watching. Thought this was just my issue!!!

Ploppymoodypants · 26/10/2018 21:53

Oh my goodness this is a problem that had plagued me every winter for the past 20 years!!! How do you control the blisteze worm ?! It smears into the lid and then collects fluff from my pocket or bag. Grim. Tried not squeezing and just letting it do it’s thing, but then just juice comes out. No idea.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 26/10/2018 21:55

I leave it with the cap off to let the 'worm' finish coming out. Once it's done, it's usually fine after that. My theory is that there's often a little air bubble in the tube and when that's out you don't get that mad rush anymore. But it's only a theory.

Keep it in the fridge as much as possible.

Meet0nTheIedge · 26/10/2018 22:04

Keep it cold. I find it much less likely to happen in winter and much, much more likely to happen if I put it in a pocket instead of my bag.

Mumski45 · 26/10/2018 23:44

What Lucysmam said. It widens the tube a little and sucks the blisteze back in.

Figmentofimagination · 26/10/2018 23:57

I refuse to buy the blistex with the red lid for this exact reason. I buy the intensive moisturiser one with the white lid instead.
