What are your DC having for dinner tonight (and you, obviously, if you’re eating together)? Looking for inspiration / ideas. Fed up of same old stuff and for once actually have time to cook something that takes longer than 5 mins.

Late meal tonight as it’s swimming on a Friday. A piece of cod steamed in the microwave with broccoli and peppers, and a blueberry muffin for pudding.

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/10/2018 19:14

Ooh, what are you having from the Indian?

Sexnotgender · 26/10/2018 19:16

We had chicken fajitas.

Chicken, butternut squash and pea risotto (aka: what's left in the fridge? Oh chicken and squash. Peas from freezer)

Brot64 · 26/10/2018 19:19

Ratatouille and garlic bread.

GreenDinosaur · 26/10/2018 19:21

We are having chicken fajitas tomorrow.
Salmon, stuffed mushrooms, veg and mediterranean quinoa tonight. My strange toddler bloody loves quinoa and asks for it loudly in the supermarket

SnugglySnerd · 26/10/2018 19:21

Homity pie and salad then chocolate ice cream as a bit of a Friday treat.

DocusDiplo · 26/10/2018 19:23

Chicken noodle soup.
Will they need feed tomorrow Again?! Really?!

MamaHechtick · 26/10/2018 19:31

Monday we had fish and chips (homemade), Tuesday we had curry, Wednesday super noodles (after a big healthy lunch out), Thursday was chicken roast, this evening was curry, tomorrow is pasta bake and Sunday another roast.

Roasts are a big hit in this house, the only dinner that gets eaten without a fuss, even the vegetables!

CookieSwirlC · 26/10/2018 19:32

Savoury mince/mince in gravy (whatever you call it it’s like cottage pie filling anyway!) with cheesy mash, carrots, broccoli and Yorkshire puddings. Was delicious. And I have leftovers to have over jacket potatoes tomorrow.

Going to have some ice cream in a bit when I can get the teething one year old down in her cot.

Pizza with hot dog sausages in the crust followed by choc ices. And now I’m sat with a Gin

Do I win?

BrutusMcDogface · 26/10/2018 19:40

Pizza from tescos.

TeaAddict235 · 26/10/2018 19:49

Agree with @MrsPear

Lunch is maybe between 1130-1500 and that meal will suffice until evening with all the activity that they do? Even with snacks in between my D.C. would look at me like Hmm

The DC had a Caribbean curry with rice and we're having the same. They had jelly for dessert and swiped a few biscuits I'm certain

lynmilne65 · 26/10/2018 19:56

Fish pie and baked beans 🤮

HollidayArmadillo · 26/10/2018 20:05

Millions of people, children included, have a sandwich for lunch and hot meal at dinner - what difference does it make having it the other way round? Confused

flissypix · 26/10/2018 20:11

We had slow cooked chicken in a salsa verde ish sauce with rice and green beans. I love Pinterest for recipes tried loads from there recently.

ArtyFartyQueen · 26/10/2018 20:12

Chicken goujons, pesto pasta and chopped up cucumber followed by birthday cake as it’s DH’s birthday 😊

SamPotatoes · 26/10/2018 20:14

Sausage rolls and beans for ds2. Homemade nandos spiced chicken wrap for DD. God forbid they eat the same thing Me and DH have a M&S special lined up for when he gets in. Easy dinners after a difficult day.

God knows what Ds1 has had, but he's just texted to say that the party that started at 2.30 isn't finishing til 9.30.

BearSoFair · 26/10/2018 20:20

We all had tortellini. Quick and easy on a Friday!

lynmilne65 · 26/10/2018 20:28

Bertie recipe please 😋😋

SweetPeaPods · 26/10/2018 20:29

Curry for all of us here with rice and naan.

tigercub50 · 26/10/2018 22:04

Smiled at chocolate mouse

tigercub50 · 26/10/2018 22:06

What’s *cheesy orzo”?

mamaduckbone · 26/10/2018 22:10

Sausages, potato/sweet potato wedges, homemade coleslaw and salad.

fleshmarketclose · 26/10/2018 22:16

Dd had toast, I had fish finger sandwich, we don't seem to have much interest in food at the moment.
