Helping with living room layout?

I have a living room with 2 doors, you have to walk through the lounge diagonally to get to the kitchen. And with kids it’s quite a walk way... I want to make it more cosy but I’m struggling how to.

Can you use a large L shaped sofa to force a narrow walk way around the outside of the sofa, so the sofa+tv area feels more intimate?
