Am I likely to upset anyone doing this for halloween?

DS wants to be a zombie. I am crap with facepaints but have found some stick on wounds for £1 and was planning on distressing his old school trousers and polo shirt. Will people be offended that it is school uniform? DS is 6. There are no school logos but I don't want people to think it is poor humour. It is how DS wants to dress up and is looking forward to helping rip the clothes.

Every single year at our school Halloween disco there will be loads of kids in old ripped school uniform as zombies. I can't think why anyone would be offended that it's uniform.

Not in the slightest, DCs here went to a Halloween party last night and there were at least 3 school-uniform-zombies there!

My DS is 7. Most of his school polo shirts look, err, distressed after a couple of wears.

What would be offensive about it? I’d prefer to see hat than some mass bought item from the supermarket.

Thanks all. I thought that but had a few raised eyebrows from others.

Do they not watch the walking dead? Children are the first to go!

hidinginthenightgarden · 26/10/2018 12:23

Maybe that's the concern Grin

My experience after too much time spent on MN is that doing just about anything will upset someone.

I can't see what you're doing should be particularly bad though!

Sundayblues13 · 26/10/2018 12:24

Seriously? Get a grip it's Halloween what the fuck is he meant to go as a care bear?

Skittlesandbeer · 26/10/2018 12:44

I suppose you could always dip-dye the school shirt, or really make it unrecognisably raggedy with paints and extra ripping if you’re truly
concerned?
