She's not a very well woman. I thought she was a priest too.

I think Sinead has an awful lot of pain in her life, and is searching for a way to heal that pain. And if she finds peace in Islam that will be a wonderful thing.
People find peace in many ways.

She's always been a tortured soul. I hope she finds some measure of peace in Islam.

Nothing wrong with becoming a Muslim clearly. But Sinead O’Connor’s journey through life thus far has been troubled and desperately sad. She’s older than me and yet she makes me feel maternal towards her. Poor woman, In desperate need and searching for something she may never find. I hope this decision gives her some peace.

Shame we won’t he getting any more albums from her though.

Yes, this. She is so fragile. I hope she finds a peaceful way to live.

She called out the catholic sex scandal many years before it was ‘cool’. She’s undeniably unwell but I respect her for that.

I believe she's estranged from all her children too. 

She has been interested in religion and faith for many years. I think she even did a degree in Religious Studies (or similar) as a mature student.

In and of itself this isn't very noteworthy, many people change religions I guess.

However..... if someone has bipolar I'd imagine there is always that sense of "What if this person is in a manic phase?".
Best of luck to her and as with all people struggling with their demons I truly hope she finds peace. Islam is as good a framework as any for that.
