Scam email?

I received an email yesterday but only checked them today. It appears to be sent from my account and says note to self.. I have clicked to find the email address but it's just my own.

The sender says they have hacked me account have my contacts passwords and such and have placed a Trojan on my device. They want Bitcoin and have sent a link to pay it. They say if I change my password they will know due to software they have uploaded on my device. I haven't played it and pretty sure it's a scam.
Does anyone know what I need to do can I just delete and ignore it do I have to make any checks?

Delete it. Ignore it. whatever you do, DONT click on any links. Its a scam. I've had lots at work recently saying they have accessed passwords and have hacked our webcams so they can see us enjoying porn sites. Its very scary language but I know that no one could get past our firewall so know its rubbish!

Do you have anti-virus software? If so run a scan. If not get one and run a scan.

I would be surprised if it wasn't anything other than someone trying their luck and it is more likely something would happen once you clicked the link, after all an email account is not computer specific.

It’s a spoofed email (made to look like you sent it to yourself). Ignore it.

It's a scam. Delete and ignore. You don't even need to run a scan, honestly. These are doing the rounds.

I have malware and anti virus protection on all my devices and nothing has come up and I haven't clicked a link. Off to delete now thanks for the confirmation :)
