I am planning to go to Billericay Soap Box Derby on May bank holiday and thought we may as well make a weekend of it. Can anyone recommend a nice town or village within 45 mins drive to stay please. I considered Southend but not really feeling it having looked into it although the coast would have been nice. We are a couple that like nice restaurants, shops and bars (live music is a plus)
