Hello

I'm looking for myself & DH to get new iPhones (current ones are on their way out)

I don't want to pay for a phone upfront so would rather just pay monthly.

Anyone know where has good deals or any advice? I'm after cheaper the better!!

Everything you need to know here

Short version:

iphones are rarely cheap

it's almost always cheaper to buy outright and get a cheap sim only for your phone service

you can save a lot by getting an earlier model

if you can't or don't want to pay for the whole phone in one go, look for ways to borrow the money cheaply, eg credit card 0% offer. Make sure you pay off the whole amount before you start to pay interest.

Get an iPhone 8. It's a great phone and Apple is discounting them after introducing the 10's.

It's a luxury product and priced accordingly.

We always buy reconditioned iPhones from Game or similar, they usually come with a 12 month warranty

Our last two iPhones have been reconditioned ones from music magpie and have been perfect, not a mark on them. We had to send one back and they replaced it within a couple of days with no issues at all.

I bought my last two on eBay. Got the X max 264gb for £1000. Always check the reason for sale though.

Apple do an upgrade program.

We’ve preordered the new iPhone XR from them and we’re going to pick the phones up tomorrow.

It will cost us £69 upfront and £45 (ish) a month from then on. Once we have made 11 payments, we can upgrade to the next new iPhone (so whatever they announce next year) and then just swap phones basically. If we don’t want to upgrade, then we finish paying off the finance over the remaining months.

We have a sim only contract with work, so this works well for us.
