Miscarriage at 8 weeks

Hi I’m wondering if anyone has any advice. I had a scan on Monday and the hospital said the baby has no heartbeat and hasn’t grown in 3 weeks. Today I started to miscarry and it is so painful. The doctor prepared me for what was to come but didn’t mention the pain. There is quite a lot of blood and I’m understandably feeling quite dizzy and nauseous because of this. They told me not to go to the hospital as there is nothing they can do at this early stage. I’m feeling so alone right now and the pain is so awful. How long does this pain/ bleeding usually last? Any help will be gratefully appreciated

I am so sorry..i have no advice as I have not experienced this but you are not alone. I am here if you want to talk.

If you are feeling dizzy due to blood loss, go to the hospital now..

If the pain is also unbearable and not controlled please go to a&e.

For either, they WILL NOT turn you away, i promise

Thank you both so much. I didn’t think anyone would be awake right now Hmm I am not sure if I’m dizzy due to lack of sleep and the fact that I’m terrified of what is happening, or if it’s due to loss of blood. It’s like the heaviest period I’ve ever had.

Are you England?

Maybe ring 111, but you may wait a long time for a call back.

Are you wetting thru pads? How often, how much?
Have you taken some pain medications?

LondonLassInTheCountry · 25/10/2018 03:53

If you are often wetting through pads or changing them very often then you need to get to the hospital.

Your dizziness could be lack of sleep, stress, loss of blood, blood pressure problems or something and nothing but if you think you are losing alot then you need to go somewhere

I’ve been in exactly this position and I’m so sorry this is happening to you. For me it all lasted a couple of days. You will know when it’s over.
No one tells you about the pain - it is overwhelming. And more blood than I thought was possible - I leaked through onto the mattress 🙈
Just make yourself as comfortable as you can and you will get through it x

Thank you all so much for your advice and support. I called 111 and the ambulance came out for me and examined me. The bleeding had got much worse and was leaving onto my bed. Whilst the paramedics were with me I passed a big clot of blood and something else (I was too scared to look closely) but I’ve come to a&e. I’m still bleeding but I feel a little less weak since getting in the ambulance. Just waiting to be seen now. I’ll let you know how it goes xx

I’m so sorry you are going through this Flowers
Glad you called 111 and have been taken to a&e. Hope you don’t have too long a wait x

Thank you all of you 🤗 so I definitely had a miscarriage. The doctor told me that my cervix is closed so I think that means that the actual miscarriage is over now, however the cramping pain is still pretty unbearable. I’m hoping this won’t last much longer. The bleeding has dramatically reduced now. Just thought I’d let you guys know what happened. And thank you all again for your advice and support xx
