Quick, need some help.

DD is taking the boyfriend to New York for his birthday. He doesn't know yet. She has a box, with hopefully written clues in it. She only needs 3.

The first one is an 'X' and a drawing of a box. That's Time Square.

Any ideas what else she can do. Needs to be either writing or drawn. She wants them in envelopes for him to open.

Ta muchly!

Something about the Statue of Liberty?

Chelsea26 · 24/10/2018 15:57

She could draw a little map with a station bang smack in the middle called £1000 Station

MaureenMLove · 24/10/2018 15:58

Chelsea - that's inspired! Love it.

Central Park?

Why did she choose NYC? Is there something specific he would like there? Is he Rangers (hockey) fan? Would he lvoe the MoMA? Something he would know because he always wanted to see it?

Sitranced · 24/10/2018 15:59

An apple

Chelsea26 · 24/10/2018 16:02

And then if she wanted to be really tricky just a piece of paper with a line at the top or two ones with an arrow pointing to the top one (the high line)

I don't get it Confused Blush

Chelsea26 · 24/10/2018 16:05

Or a small stone with a sticker/x on top (top of the rock)

Or a picture of Chrissie hynde then a picture of a man in the middle of a circle (Rockefeller Centre)

Andylion · 24/10/2018 16:05

Oh, Grand Central Station?

MaureenMLove · 24/10/2018 16:10

Andylion - yeah we did that!

I just got back from NYC, during the horrible autumn heatwave, (30 C and grossly humid!). It was still wonderful.

I hope they have a fabulous time. Smile

Something to do with basketball? And then go see a game? On of my highlights from NYC!

Charm23 · 24/10/2018 16:29

Draw a small apple and a big apple, then an arrow pointing to the big one

FTFF · 24/10/2018 16:39

I surprised DH with a new York trio and I have home a "big apple" it's a big chrome apple which we now have as an ornament!

FTFF · 24/10/2018 16:41

Ah just noticed they need to go in envelopes. I'd Draw a huge apple 🍎

Thanks all. She's done a great job. She bought a box from Hobbycraft and covered it with decoupage paper that had little travel stamps all over it and then in the bottom she stuck NYC stickers. Then she put a layer of tissue paper on it, so he has to rip it off. There's 6 or so envelopes, with a luggage tag label in each.

The clues are in picture form. She has 5. She opted for drawing a bit of the Central Line and one of the stations is the parking icon (blue background, white 'P' for a car park). She did a small apple and a big apple and an arrow to the big one. Then she drew a man, a hat and wrote 'an'. (That was my idea!). Then she did a block of flats and an iron, for the Flat Iron building? And finally a multiplication sign and a square! Then one final envelope, before the tissue paper says, 'start spreading the news!'

Big reveal is on his birthday on Saturday. She's so excited! It's been tricky getting it done though, as she and him are living here at the moment, so we only had a small window when he wasn't here yesterday. It's his 21st. She's 23. His mum and dad have paid for his flight and she's paid for everything else.
