Help, can I cook this?

Apologies for rubbish question but can I cook mince that was frozen and put from freezer to fridge 48 hours ago to defrost? I don’t often freeze uncooked meat and if I do, I normally defrost for 24 hours in fridge then cook it but yesterday ran away with me and didn’t get round to it! Thanks in any advance for any health & safety advice!

Just to clarify: It was fresh mince when you brought it home and you put it straight in the freezer. You then took it out of the freezer at a later date and put it in the fridge to defrost. Instead of using it 24 hours later as planned it has been in the fridge defrosting for 48 hrs. If I am understanding this correctly then it will be absolutely fine to use now.

Yeah I would use it. Tbh it takes a pack of mince about 48hrs to thoroughly defrost in my fridge anyway so I think that's pretty standard.

Yes exactly big blue....so I can use it. Great, I thought so but wasn’t sure....and yes Louise at 24 hrs not always quite defrosted!
