Ok I didn't know if I was allowed to name a product in the title but I was hoping to get opinions on the Nintendo switch. My DD 9 really wants one but they are very expensive and I don't want to waste money we don't really have. It would be for Xmas and her birthday and she wouldn't be getting much else. Are they any good/worth the money?

My ds has one and they are brilliant! I’m not much of a techie, so probably can’t answer particular questions, but lots of his friends have it too.

My DS(8) got one for his bday last year. It's fab - he likes that he can play on the telly or used it hand held. I like it because you can link it to your smart phone and set time limits/alarms and monitor how much they are playing (plus I loved playing Legend of Zelda!)

My ds has one and he loves it, is on it every day. They are expensive, buy a case for it in case its dropped!

Thanks for replies, it sounds great I think I will get it for her. Thinking of getting fortnite for her to play on it, if anyone has it can you tell me if it's a game that you need to spend money on, ie for in app purchases? Thanks.

Re fortnite, you can spend money on it, but you don't have to. My DS saves up his pocket money and gets a gift card from Game to redeem and spend as he likes. I like the giftcard, as I refuse to put my credit card details into the console, so he can't spend anything on it (though there are parental controls/passwords)
