Making a will and getting my shit together

Reading a thread this morning about elderly parents reminded me (again) that DH and I don’t have wills.

We’re mid 30s, 2 preschool kids. Mortgaged house (unequal shares - also needs sorting). We do have life insurance.

How do we do wills? solicitor? Do it ourselves? Who to have the kids if we both die? POA set up or not at this age?

I’m going to make a spreadsheet of all our accounts and insurance policies.
Should we have a list of passwords somewhere for accounts?

We used a MNetter who advertisers on here, She came highly recommended and she was excellent. With children a Will is essential. It is Marlow Wills and I think her user name is Mumble hum.
