Spending time with teenagers during school holidays

DS is now 14; DD is 12.

DH and I both work full time.
When the DC were younger, we had a 2 week family holiday in the summer; 2 or 3 days off together over Christmas, and the rest of the time DH and I took separate days off during the holidays to minimise the use of holiday clubs.

The DC are now old enough to be left and although in practice they still like us taking time off during the holidays to spend with them, we are increasingly struggling to know what to go with it (going for walk jumping through leaves, ending up at a playground is somehow not very exciting any more :) ). And lots of things I suggest the DC would rather do with their friends.

So just wondered how others manage their annual leave with younger teens? Do you spend time with them? (if so, doing what?) Do you just do your own thing? Do you avoid taking annual leave in school holidays?

Have the same problem, 2xds, 14 and 12, zero interest in parks anymore, they both prefer hanging out with friends, football and fortnite

Ditto. One of 17 one of 13; finding it really hard to agree on something that doesn’t cost £££££. Thankfully it’s a beautiful day here and I am making them come out for a picnic!
