The price must be wrong?? It’s a plastic toy!

At least it's free postage...

BigStripeyBastard · 23/10/2018 21:25

Well, it says it's rare..... 😂

Bunnyhop1502 · 23/10/2018 21:26

Also 1997 is vintage now? Blush

MyOtherProfile · 23/10/2018 21:27

Perhaps the box is hiding a stash of something v expensive.

TheWoollybacksWife · 23/10/2018 21:28

That was DD1's favourite film when she was little. I'm sure we had some of those toys. If only I'd made her keep them in the box and not play with them I could be paying my mortgage off in a week or so.

Bananalanacake · 23/10/2018 21:29

You could buy a house for that. Dunno where though

BigStripeyBastard · 23/10/2018 21:35

Yes vintage is 20 years or more. 1997 is most definitely vintage.

Reaa · 23/10/2018 21:35

Has anyone made an offer for £5 yet?

Bunnyhop1502 · 23/10/2018 21:37

@BigStripey good to know! I’m still in the mentality that 20 years ago was the 80s.

Iaimtomisbehave1 · 23/10/2018 21:40

It better not be the sort of price someone actually pays. I had those toys. Opened, played with and now probably in the ether.

CallMeRachel · 23/10/2018 21:41

Ha! At least that item is new. Who buys these things

Anyone for a new (old) pair of slippers???!!
£4,000 they sold for!!! 😂

I don't know how to do a fancy linky

Bunnyhop1502 · 23/10/2018 21:42

I don’t even think original 70s millennium falcons sell for that much. There’s something going on here. Something strange.

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 23/10/2018 21:43

Bananalana we just sold our house for a great deal less than that and we got way above asking price!

SinkGirl · 23/10/2018 21:44

Rachel that’s a sex thing though. I hope the Hercules toys isn’t a sex thing.

SinkGirl · 23/10/2018 21:45

I think it’s that thing that some sellers seem to do where they put in a stupidly high price when they’re out of stock rather than taking the listing down. I don’t know why but I see it a lot.

Iaimtomisbehave1 · 23/10/2018 21:46

@SinkGirl

Used slippers are a sex thing? I don't understand...

Racecardriver · 23/10/2018 21:47

There are seven watching Shock

Iaimtomisbehave1 · 23/10/2018 21:50

I’m watching! Just want to see what happens...

elephantoverthehill · 23/10/2018 21:58

I wanted to replace a very ordinary Sainbury's vintage cook book, a small paperback called 'Cooking the Mexican Way'. On Saturday night one was on offer on Amazon for £88 and one on e-bay for £15. On Sunday I bought one for £3.75 with free postage. WTAF?

Time40 · 23/10/2018 22:12

Those used slippers that (apparently) sold for £4,000 ... what in the name of God was going on there? I have to know. It's going to drive me mad. Someone stop me from asking the seller. If you look at the bid history, it appears to be a genuine sale.

Iaimtomisbehave1 · 23/10/2018 22:14

@Time40

I’ve just fallen down a google rabbit hole which will forever be in my internet history! Well worn shoes and socks are indeed a sex thing...

ree348 · 23/10/2018 22:24

Have you seen the other items he is selling?! WTH...

Time40 · 23/10/2018 22:24

Oh yes @Iaimtomisbehave1, I know they are, and Ebay is full of "well worn" shoes (more so recently than it used to be, I think) but they don't usually sell for anything like that price. £4,000 is deeply, deeply mysterious. Could it really be true? Perhaps it was two very rich fetishists trying to outbid each other, and the seller just got extremely lucky.

Time40 · 23/10/2018 22:25

Other items? Oh dear - I'm going to have to go and look ...

Iaimtomisbehave1 · 23/10/2018 22:28

The bidding history shows 2 bidders trying to outdo one another, and a retracted bid of £4200. So one of them changed their mind at the end!
