Hi there, I had my first scan on Monday at 7 weeks 2 days and saw the heartbeat, on my letter I received it said crl 11.5 mm does anyone know if that’s normal? Or what lengths crl should be each week? Or anywhere I can find accurate info as lots of sites are contradicting, lastly when is the usual gender reveal week is it 12 or 18? So confused, all comments highly appreciated thank you 😊

I dont know what a gender reveal week is but I'm guessing you mean the annomaly scan at around 20 weeks where you may find out the sex? It isn't guaranteed though as that's not what the scan is for.

These some pretty good 4d scans out now if you're into that sort of thing. They're just for fun.

The anomaly scan is at 20 weeks, but you may not find out the sex - that's not the purpose of the scan! Usually the sonographer can/will tell you, but not always. Don't know about measurements sorry!

The CRL is used to date the pregnancy so if they said you were 7+2 then they’ve worked that out for the CRL.

I’ve got no idea what a ‘gender reveal week’ is but if you mean when can you find out the sex then the sonographer may be able to tell you which sex it is most likely to be at your 20 week scan once they have completed all the development checks or you can pay for a private sexing scan which can be attempted at 16+ weeks

Congratulations!

You can, if baby is in a favourable position, find out the gender from 16 weeks onwards. Private ultrasound centres often sell this as a ‘gender reveal scan’. You will have your anomaly scan on the NHS at 20 weeks, the purpose of this is to check that the baby is developing as it should but if they can get a good look they should also be able to tell you the gender.

A CRL of 11.5 is, I think, exactly where you should be at 7 weeks. I’m sure they would have told you if your dates had changed based on your scan measurements or if there was something to be concerned about.
