Why am I bleeding black lumpy bits mid cycle? Fibroids? Cyst?

Fed up. Pretty sure I ovulated a couple days ago and before it I bled a little, it stopped but now today I have a bright red blood but with lots of really strange black little lumps. I assume these are clumps of old blood or bits of tissue?

I had some pain but always tend to have pain at ovulation anyway. It's the quantity of the blood mid cycle that's alarming me a little.

Is a fibroid the most likely reason? Or a cyst?

I used to have this. No fibroids or cysts (had investigation due to extremely heavy bleeding). The lumps were merely congealed blood...

I had this - it was nothing sinister, just heavy bleeding during my period that didn't "make it out" during the normal part of my cycle.

It happened for a few months and I had investigations and was eventually put on traxenamic acid. I've not had a problem since, and that was over a year ago now!

Thank you! Great to hear it was nothing sinister! That's a relief. I've been studiously avoiding Dr Google to not frighten myself Grin

The reason I thought fibroid is, I know I have a little one (or some? can't remember!) but the gynae who found them said they were small and not a problem at all unless they grew. So, I was suddenly wondering if it had grown dramatically.

It is really weird to see this peculiar stuff coming out though. I'm used to fairly big clots on my actual period, but not this.
