Can I freeze cheese sauce?

Just that really. Made far too much for macaroni cheese and don’t want to chuck it. It’s flour, butter, milk and cheese made in the microwave. Would it survive defrosting if I froze it?

I think it would be fine.

Yes, it will be fine!

should be ok, might be a bit watery when you defrost it though.

Oh yes! I have many child dinner size portions in the freezer 😅

AliDran · 23/10/2018 16:36

Yes, I always freeze it if I've made too much

ASilhouetteAndNothingMore · 23/10/2018 16:36

I freeze leeks in cheese sauce when I make too much.

dementedpixie · 23/10/2018 16:39

Yes we often freeze it

I find it needs diluting a bit after defrosting. Can sometimes go a bit grainy looking, just give it a good stir and add extra milk. Simples!
