I am launching a new business in January and to promote it I am going to attend some Christmas Fayres and sell things to encourage people to the stall and get my new name out there. As I have no background in area I have no idea how much stock to buy. How do people with experience work it out?

Do you mean stock as in raw materials to make and sell a finished item or would you be buying a finished item to put a mark up on it and sell it??

Well I’m trying to buy things already made (candles bath bombs) but it’s not going that well really!

Candles and bath bombs really aren't exciting anymore. They can be bought from everywhere from Poundland to Selfridges.

What is your business idea? I don't think you will make a name for yourself by selling other people's products at a mark up. What makes you special?

Have you drawn up a business plan? It's all well and good to think "Christmas fayres, candles and bath bombs" but what's your usp? Who is your target audience? Where do they shop, what do they buy?

There's a shedload on people on Facebook alone selling candles and bath bombs. Even more in bricks and mortar shops. Why will people want to buy from you? (Not needing an answer, it's something for you to consider why)

If this is as a launch to your business and not the main thrust of your business it might be better to work on your business and launch rather than a distraction of a sideline.

Good luck, whatever you do.
