What's the easiest way to scoop the insides out of the pumpkin?

Every bloody year I stand & do it with a big metal spoon, or the ice cream scoop...or a combination of both. But it's bloody knackering on the arms .

There must be an easier way!? I've considered a cheapy hand mixer but not sure if I'd break it's beaters using it to scrape pumpkins.

What do you lot use?

I do a combo of running a big, sharp knife round the inside, then scooping with a metal dessert spoon and repeat as necessary. It's never seemed particularly onerous that way. Have you not been using the knife step?

Nope, it's honestly never occurred to me to use a knife! I will do this time though.
