Bastarding sore throat

I've had some bloody viral infection that knockes me off my feet for a week - a week at home in bed. Aches, hot/cold, exhausted.

It went away. Then came back with a vengeance.

I assume it's that and not the flu jab I had last Saturday.

Anyway, my throat is red raw. Hurts to swallow. To drink. Strepsils just about help fill the pain slightly.

What can I do???

I had exactly the same! Horrible cold, wiped out and got better then bam! Horrible sore throat. Just taking paracetamol and ibuprofen.

I just want it to feel normal again Not :-(

I suspect it must be viral. Nothing I can do really?

I had the throat thing, but wasn’t knocked out by it- went to work etc. Then had the flu and pneumonia jabs on Saturday and was wiped out yesterday. I slept for about 14 hours!

I have this too. Started last Sunday. Totally lost my voice, stayed off work but returned on Thursday, to completely lose my voice again and didn't go in on Friday. I'm staying off now until I'm completely better. I'm knackered and keep losing my voice unless I don't talk at all. I soldier on through everything and never have time off but this has knocked me for six.

ohh..... I have this .Wiped out my October break ftom school. Still sore throat now and cough. Back to work knackered

Chloroseptic spray is my go-to for a very bad sore throat just to get a bit of relief. You have my sympathies

Get some difflam spray, ibuprofen & paracetamol and this should perk you up x

Yes to the throat sprays. I had an awful throat a few weeks ago and the throat spray really helped. I normally get chloraseptic, but had a covonia one this time as it was the only one in the shop and I was desperate. it didn't taste particularly nice, but you could use every couple of hours (so more often than most other numbing ones i think). it definitely made things much more bearable and gives pretty much instant relief.

I felt like crap and slept for about 48hours, but at least my throat wasn't keeping me up. Hope it passes soon!
