Massive gift value mis-match - help!

I’m abroad on a work trip, which coincides with my much-loved manager’s last week with the company. She is also here for the week but is based on the other side of the world to me and here.

Tonight she gave me an absolutely beautiful necklace as a thankyou and goodbye present. I love it and she told me it was hand made so I looked up the designer. It must have cost at least £100. I’m mortified. For her leaving present from her UK-based team, I bought her a £5 Big Ben Christmas tree decoration, a tin of shortbread in a nice canister from the V&A and a V&A pocket museum book. Total cost ~£20. I haven’t given her her presents yet and I don’t know what to do. Do I give her the presents I have or pop out to the shops tomorrow and top them up to make it rather less uneven? I could replace the Christmas tree ornament with something a bit posher, so it’s nicer rather than more stuff IYSWIM, but I wanted to get her a nice London one so she’d be reminded of us all at a happy time of the year. I can’t do that abroad! Help!

Your gift sounds lovely and you've put a lot of thought into them. Don't change them, she might have spent more money but presumably she has a higher salary.

Thankyou. She does have a higher salary but I wasn’t expecting anything, let alone something like that. I did some shopping this evening and have a sewing kit. I’ve tracked down a haberdashery for tomorrow evening and then I can make a felt London bus tree ornament - the effort makes up for the price tag!
