When do you stop being Divorced & become Single again ?

Just that really. 10 years divorced & absolutely nothing to do with ex (thank God) as kids are both over 21 now.

I completely understand if there is a ticky box is relevant for a specific data gathering eg when I signed up for a college course some years ago I asked why & they said it helped with funding if they could prove they were supporting recently divorced women back into the workplace. Not a problem if I know why.

Just HATE it every time if it's for a random form eg to buy something online or a customer survey after using a website, I know it's probably just my residual guilt but it really annoys me!

Now DC2 has the chance of some extra funding for Uni which would help his finances greatly. On the dreaded form is the same box.
Tick single on I go, if I tick divorced I have to provide eleventy million bits of paper. Given that it's an official document not just Tesco.com I suppose I'll have to dig out all they want but grrrrrrr. They already have inside leg measurements, income, star sign & bank details.

Would a father have to do the same?

BTW Ex does help DC2 with an allowance but refuses to do any more & he hardly sees DC so it's down to me )

Quite happy to be told IABU,just wondered if it was just me!!! Grin

Yes, this has been my bugbear in the past too - also 10 years divorced! I just tick single now/ I refuse to be labelled Grin!

Thanks Leo- it's just that...the labelling I hate being put in box. Years of being stereotyped, now I'm just me!

Oh yes I completely agree! why have to define yourself by something that happened a decade ago Confused
Really after, say, a couple of years you should be able to put single.

Exactly Dawn. I know it's daft, but every time I have to say or write "divorced" it's like a little dig in the ribs. I've moved on now in many ways but it still hurts!
