I’ve just won an argument against my DH but I’ve realised I’m wrong!

I even had proof!

But then realised I was wrong about that too.

So, would you admit it or sit smugly being "right"?

My votes for smugly!

I don’t want to admit it as I was all Ha! See! SEE! as I pointed at the proof. Blush

You need to tell us what you were "right" about before we can possibly vote...

MVLipwig · 22/10/2018 17:25

We definitely need context

OvOntToSuckYourBlood · 22/10/2018 17:25

It’s very trivial!

We were arguing when I got my first iPad. I swore blind it was 2010 and he said it was 2011. He remembers going to buy it and lots of detail.

But I remember buying Supernatural on iTunes on my 30th birthday which was Oct 2010.

So obv I was right, I went into detail about how freaked out I was at the first episode so posted on MN about it and Showy had to convince me to keep watching!

This was all accurate. But I’d forgotten iTunes existed before iPads. Blush And I’d dowloaded Supernatural to watch on my bloody laptop!

I never remember stuff better than he does so was dead chuffed that I’d 'beat' him this time and was super gloaty and supercilious.I practically danced around him in show off fashion. 😂

Good God woman, say nothing.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 22/10/2018 17:27

I'd sit smugly tbh.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 22/10/2018 17:28

Depends if you did the Told You So dance.

frankie001 · 22/10/2018 17:28

Say nowt and get this thread deleted, just in case!

Betsy86 · 22/10/2018 17:29

Admit nothing.... nothing!!!!!

Polkapjs · 22/10/2018 17:30

I would keep quiet now!

mrsmuddlepies · 22/10/2018 17:31

Be the bigger person or karma will find a way of making you pay!

HeronLanyon · 22/10/2018 17:31

Personally I always ‘fess up in circs like this (where it’s not earth shattering debate ). It kind of makes me feel I have a credit somewhere. In the ‘trust bank’. Funnily enough I always link it in my mind to the ability not to fess up, better, next time. Perhaps I should consider it the ‘misleading bank’. I would definitely ‘fess up.

HeronLanyon · 22/10/2018 17:34

Also hope it’s a case where confessing will be a laugh for you both rather than current (possible) slightly frosty situation ?? If however he really will be obnoxious I would confess but plan to be out somewhere for a bit.

Showy · 22/10/2018 17:40

If he works it out, just tell him it was all my fault.

Please tell me you stuck with Supernatural?

TooDamnSarky · 22/10/2018 17:43

If it were me I would definitely:

  1. decide to never tell him
  2. blurt it out the moment I saw him

Every time.

OvOntToSuckYourBlood · 22/10/2018 17:43

He'd definitely laugh if I confess. And then remind me of it during the next trivial argument!

I NEED this win. My memory for this type of thing is terrible! He’s an utter dafty with day to day stuff but can remember if it rained on August 1st 1997.

Sqiffany, there were definitely some dance moves. I even sung "you’re wrong wrong wrong wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong" to the tune of church bells. Blush

OP posts:
Dairymilkmuncher · 22/10/2018 17:44

@HeronLanyon yes to the trustbank!!!

This has only happened to me twice before and I didn't do a dance but I did admit to being wrong so I would have more credibility and he's always smug back, "I knew you were wrong"

MissDai5y · 22/10/2018 17:45

Short of him finding the receipt for your iPad, I can't see how it'd be discovered so I'd take the win.

My OH is often right with stuff like that so I'd probably have done something similar. I'd not confess.

OvOntToSuckYourBlood · 22/10/2018 17:45

I did Showy! I’m still mad about Dean 😍. Though I confess that Sam was the One for the first two seasons. Shock.

I still read supernatural fanfic too. Grin

OP posts:
ShowOfBloodyStumps · 22/10/2018 18:00

Aah August 1st 1997, a Friday. The athletics championship opened in Athens. It wasn't raining iirc...

I was a Dean girl until season 4 and then it was Castiel all the way. Sometimes Dean too. Damn fanfic has a lot to answer for...

OvOntToSuckYourBlood · 22/10/2018 18:06

I’m not a Castiel fan.
I do love Misha though!

Castiel's just a big messer-upper and him and Sam should stop fucking up and making my poor Dean sad.

Have you watched the Supernatural Parodies by Hillywood, on YouTube? If not then you should. They are so good!

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 22/10/2018 18:23

Nooooo. Castiel fell for those boys. Team Free Will, gripping Dean tight and raising him from perdition etc. And Dean sad is important. Ackles gets to do manly tears and wobbly lips and hearts break across the fandom.

I'm heading to YouTube to find these parodies.

Aviana · 22/10/2018 19:10

but can remember if it rained on August 1st 1997.

Surely he's just relying on you not knowing/remembering so not contradicting him?!

EnidButton · 22/10/2018 19:16

I'd admit it because otherwise it would haunt me one morning at 4am and keep me awake.

I can't keep anything from DH though. Annoyingly.

igglu · 22/10/2018 19:28

I can confirm it didn't rain on 1 august 1997 as it was my 21st birthday and I went out. Unless I'm remembering it wrong

DaveMinion · 22/10/2018 19:31

iPads came out in may 2010. You were right.

I flew to New York the day after I got mine. It’s the only time I’ve ever been and was just before I got married so pretty sure of the date lol.
