DS1 is 1000s of miles away without a coat

He's 17 and was left to organise his own packing (I should think so too!). School trip

He hasn't taken a coat. Weather is chilly and potentially wet where he is. He'll be outside most of the time.

How do you reckon he'll be coping? (lighthearted)

Cold wet and miserable or resourceful enough to have made himself comfortable/found/borrowed/bought something to wear.

Theyre in a large city but no shopping trip was scheduled

Lesson learned for him, leave him to it.

Soggy. Very soggy.

And having visions of mummy rolling up with a nice big coat.

Silly billy will never do it again!

Branleuse · 22/10/2018 17:03

how cold and how wet are we talking?

I guess its a lesson for him to learn, but im sure I would have reminded my teenager to take a coat.

Stupomax · 22/10/2018 17:15

I guess it depends how chilly it is.

Where DD goes to boarding school in October it's between 2C and 12C so I leave it up to her to sort it out. As it turned out she didn't take her warm coat with her this month and has been wearing (she says) four layers each time she goes outside and has been fine.

In December it's -3 to -12 so if she didn't have warm coat, boots, gloves and hat I would move heaven and earth to get them to her if she forgot them.

Hey, my DH does this and he's 50!

Kezzie200 · 22/10/2018 19:46

If any adults or organisations are involved, their risk assessment will sort him out!
