Jo Whiley and Simon Mayo’s show to end

I wonder if they’ve been reading our numerous threads? Jo is going to the 7-9 slot which will suit her perfectly, I’m not sure if Simon is staying in his slot I imagine he will be.

Now, what are we going to do about Steve Wright?!!!

Simon is leaving R2. Will be interesting to see who steps into the drive time slot

Where's simon going

Please not Dermot. I can't listen to his voice on the radio, its too wet and sibilant. It makes me feel sick (sorry dermot not your fault I know)

I want to know where Simon is going too.

This is what they wanted all along. Jo Whiley will have the show to herself.

He's carrying on on radio 5 and concentrating on being an author.

The BBC has to get some women presenters on radio 2 in the day. Unfortunately they've chosen presenters I don't like. I'll have to go all digital and only listen to 6 music.

I hope it's Sara Cox too. Lovely and cheery for a busy time of day.

Jo Wiley 7-9 is a good move. I've enjoyed drivetime being extended, but I preferred her previous show; the chemistry with Simon just hasn't quite clicked and the show format has less energy than when Simon was solo.

I like Sara's evening show more than when she covers in the morning.

Dermot O'Leary doesn't work on the radio at all as it's impossible to put subtitles up to clarify his mumbled whisperings. An ability to be heard is pretty critical to be a radio presenter.

I wish Steve Wright would get the hint...

Liza tarbuck was fab when she recently joined Simon mayo when Jo was off. The dynamic between the 2 of them was great. The show was suddenly funny again. Anyway, I reckon either Sara or Liza will be the new drivetime host.

I listen to Radio 5! It's ace.

I can't believe how someone has utterly fucked up in the first place by putting Jo and Simon together, it was a car crash from the first show. A classic example of if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Another vote for Radio 5, it’s great, pretty much all I listen to now and if Sarah Cox gets more air time it definitely will be all I listen to!

What exactly is Radio 5? Is it just chat? Ive never listened because I thought it was sport.
