I’m after the fisherman’s hut and it’s a lot of money. Saw it last night massively discounted on John lewes today it’s out of stock... could really do with no buying it for the full cost. Does anyone have any discounts for any stores that sell it pleeeeeease? The best I can find is £12 off smythes which is ok... but still not great.

I’ll be very greatful!!

I got mine from Very but they don't seem to sell it any more. You might have more luck by asking on facebook groups like Lego sell it, want it, swap it. Lots of Lego fans on there and bargains to be found. (remember to pay with paypal goods and services though)

Yeah Iv looked on there. So gutted I didn’t do yet last night! I rang them but they can’t tell me when it’ll be in stock and can’t tell me if when it is in stock if it will be sold at the discount or full price! So annoying!

We buy a lot of Lego sets second hand on local gumtree type websites. Always in great condition too- some have been unwanted gifts so still unopened in original box. Good luck!

Is the John Lewis deal online only, or could you ring a store to put the set to one side?

£94 is a good price, but you could easily buy for around that if you post on the Lego group. Someone was selling one only built once, with box and signed by the designer for only £100.

It’s for my son who’s autistic so it has to be brand new unopened. Wouldn’t be an issue for my other child mind!

Amazon usually have the best prices on Lego - particularly if it's on offer elsewhere. Have you looked there?

Ilmb · 22/10/2018 09:00

Yes that’s the most expensive place to buy it at £150!

ice I’m miles away from a store that sells toys, driving to one, cost of fuel and parking won’t make it worth the discount.

If it has to be new then Smyths might be the way to go. Or perhaps Ebay as they often have 10% off.

It's a pain to pay more than the John Lewis one, but discounts like that don't happen often when it comes to Lego. Sad

Ilmb · 22/10/2018 09:04

I know. It was late last night and I thought I’d do it early this morning as was in bed and card downstairs.... lesson learnt!

Strange that it's really expensive on Amazon. It's probably because it's not sold by them but another seller. I would give JL customer services a call and see if there's a way to get hold of one. They are usually very helpful.

Is it maybe worth waiting for Black Friday?

Bluelonerose · 22/10/2018 09:06

I know topcashback had 8% cashback on Lego store other day.

Ilmb · 22/10/2018 09:20

I do use top cash back but it takes months to get the money back that i really need the lowest amount out of my bank if that makes sense.

Yes Black Friday worth a go, Iv never bought in Black Friday though, is that an amazon sale only? Or every where? Do they only discount certain things?

I know it's not what you want to hear but i'm not sure you'll find it cheaper than the Smyths deal. It seems the John Lewis deal was an anomaly. Sad
