HRT - anyone found an improvement in their skin, specifically dryness?

I'm about to start taking HRT and am wondering if it will help with my extremely dry skin. My skin has always been dry as I have eczema, but over the past few years it's become finer and more wrinkled in places I'd never even CONSIDERED could get wrinkly - like my thighs! I'm not best pleased about this!

Just wondering if anyone else on HRT has noticed an improvement on the skin side of things?

It will be cyclical HRT as I'm still having periods, but at 49, am very likely to be perimenopausal.

I don't take HRT. But from having relatively mild eczema l ended up with it all over and itching like crazy for 6 months until it was diagnos ed. I just use a really heavy emoillient and that keeps it at bay.

Thanks TheEmoji - I use some great moisturisers and emollients, and thankfully my eczema is not the flare up kind, just extreme dryness. It's as well controlled as it will ever be, but can't help thinking that perhaps the lead up to the menopause is having an effect as well.

I've been taking HRT since the end of July, and I have eczema. I still have eczema, but my very itchy overly dry skin seems to quite a bit better, wrinkles are still there, my hair isn't coning out as much in the shower, and I feel a ton better, no more hot flushes, I sleep all night. I think the good nights sleep is what is making me more energetic.

Not that helpful but I had horrendous rosacea for about two and a half yrs which would flare up with no warning. Started HRT in July and it has been like a magic wand. My skin is normal to dry but I have’nt noticed it change.

I'm quietly excited now...

Bet I'll balloon up and go bald.

I use Balneum emoillient. It was recommended by a dermatologist. He said Aveeno etc wouldn’t touch very dry skin.

Balenium has urea in it for very dry skin. It’s been fantastic for me

I start taking Femoston in about a week. Been told to start them the first day of my period - I'm so hoping they effects are positive.
