Doctor Who tonight! One of the best episodes I have ever seen! Did you see it?

If you didn't see it, PLEASE get it on catch-up on BBC iplayer. It was about Rosa Parks, the activist in the civil rights movement in the 20th century (I'm sure you all knew that!) It was one of the most moving, well-written, brilliant episodes of anything I have ever seen.

So well acted, well written, and very educational. Brilliant, brilliant brilliant. Well done to all involved! Including Vinette Robinson who played Rosa.

Do watch it if you can. Excellent piece of television! I am soooooo loving Jodie Whittaker as Doctor Who!

Utterly brilliant episode, and a story that EVERYONE should see.

As has been said, it was well written, well acted, and a total gem. I also got goosebumps! And so what if it was a bit of a history lesson? As I said, EVERYONE should watch it. It would be an eye opener for some!

DH said they should show this in schools!

Like some other posters, I am warming very much to the 3 people Doctor Who is travelling with. And I love Jodie as Doctor Who obviously. Smile

I just think the writing could be a bit quicker i was losing interest a bit the writers need to remember he is writing 45 minute episodes not a series of broadchurch it even had slomo in it.

Helmetbymidnight · 21/10/2018 21:10

I loved it!

I think maybe they should have saved it for later on in the series- just to establish things that bit more/ but it was excellent entertainment.

Yes I now like Bradley Walsh! How did that happen?

When Ryan was in rosas house I wanted to cry and laugh, the whole thing was very moving. It worked.

Liked it as history, love a bit of discussion about Rosa parks...

But not loving Dr Who. I want to. Its just kind of... well dull. :( Wriitng feels wooden to me.

TheDrsDocMartens · 21/10/2018 21:14

Very uncomfortable watch but fabulously done. Part of the original Dr Who was to educate so it still fits in.

Think the ‘baddie’ was a white supremacist from the future. Or something similar anyway.

MrsJayy · 21/10/2018 21:14

Yes I agree maybe halfway through.

TheDrsDocMartens · 21/10/2018 21:15

Yes , there is that as we don’t know the characters well yet. Although it did show them in more depth.

ShockedHorrored · 21/10/2018 21:15

I enjoyed it too. I may have teared up at the end as well.

MrsJayy · 21/10/2018 21:18

I too like Bradley walsh who knew Graeme would be adorable

DGRossetti · 21/10/2018 21:19

Very disappointed Dr Who is a Sci Fi programme not a history programme

Not when it first started ...

HollyBollyBooBoo · 21/10/2018 21:21

I'm not loving this series. On the verge of giving up on it.

LEMtheoriginal · 21/10/2018 21:21

Only caught the end and it made me cry. Well done Dr

LavendarGreen · 21/10/2018 21:22

A few people need to get their facts straight...

As a few people have said, Doctor Who was originally created to educate people (children mostly) about historical figures, and famous moments in history. So it was not inappropriate in any way to do this.

Maybe people who think this, should ask themselves why they think this?

My DT's have a history mock this week, they're claiming it counts as revision 😁😁

museypants · 21/10/2018 21:23

Did those complaining about the history element miss the WW2 episodes with Eccleston, the agatha christie, Pompeii and many more episodes with Tennant to name a tiny tiny selection. Dr Who has always been like that. The doctor travels through time and space. It's the whole blimmin point!

museypants · 21/10/2018 21:24

I totally agree OP.

LavendarGreen · 21/10/2018 21:25

Exactly @museypants

As I said, people should be asking themselves why they are bothered about this being about a historical figure, and a certain time in history, when that is what Doctor Who is often about.

MrsJayy · 21/10/2018 21:26

Tbf Agatha christie was a giant wasp !

MrsJayy · 21/10/2018 21:27

In the episode I have no clue about the real Agathas wasp status

Comealongpond89 · 21/10/2018 21:30

Lol. Agatha wasn't a giant wasp. There was a giant wasp in the episode

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 21/10/2018 21:30

Traditionally I am not keen on Bradley Walsh however he was spot on this week.

museypants · 21/10/2018 21:30

I do think people need to ask why this particular episode bothered them.
The villain was not the best I've ever seen but I agree with a PP that we'll probably meet him again. It's not often Dr Who would leave a loose end like that.

MrsJayy · 21/10/2018 21:37

Wasn't A C a wasp

picklemepumpkin · 21/10/2018 21:38

I love the new dr, but found this episode a bit dull- I think because I already knew the story. It was all so predictable.
Very much back to the earliest Dr who!

AlbusPercival · 21/10/2018 21:38

I thought it was brilliant. I’d never understood before just how brave it was to refuse to move.
