Foods Poisoning Anxiety

I am a big worrier. Someone posted on FB that she & her DH ate Asda pizza from the counter at our local store last night & were very ill overnight. In fact she ended up on a drip. Guess who had pizza from the same place last night ( and for brekkie this morning) & some of the same toppings as them??! I have been feeling a bit peculiar all day, although DH & DD fine. You can get ill up to 72 hours after eating something dodgy but I would imagine with meat etc it would be pretty quick. Maybe those people would have got ill anyway but it’s concerning........

Did you feel ill only after knowing that they were sick? For me, sometimes just the anxiety of knowing I might be ill is enough to feel a bit out of sorts.

It could have been the pizza but it could quite easily been something else they ate. It may also not even be food
poisoning at all, perhaps norovirus or similar.

I’ve felt a bit off all day but not like I’m going to throw up, just queasy & out of sorts

People always want to blame being ill on something they've eaten. Its probably more likely a bug. That's very quick to end up on a drip if she only ate the pizza the night before. I'm guessing bad bug and didn't rehydrate hence drip needed for fluids. I would put the pizza out of your mind.

I once had a bag of cheese and onion McCoys and threw up afterwards. I knew it wasn't the crisps but all I could think about were the crisps and I couldn't eat them again for ages. Similarly with fish fingers as a child. It wasn't the food, it was a bug.
