Ds9 has a scabby head.. what could it be?

He’s had a scabby head for a while. I took him to the chemist and they said to use some shampoo. It’s looking better but he’s now got a bold patch!

What do I do? Should I take him doctors? He won’t let me touch it because he said it “hurts” but he keeps seeing chunks of hair falling out so I think it’s more that that’s worrying him!

Thank you xx

I get this sometimes, it started in childhood. The ginger shampoo from the Body Shop clears it right up. It's scalp dermatitis.

I would let the GP have a look.

What shampoo did they suggest?
To me (NOT an expert) that looks like what DD had - basically very dry skin, she looked like she had cradle cap though she was 10. It did come off in chunks and she had patches of new growing hair all over.
For her baby shampoo worked best especially the Burts Bees one. She is now 15 and still uses baby shampoo.

Go to the GP to check butit looks like it might be scalp psoriasis. I have psoriasis and occasionally my scalp gets like that.

Go to the docs to check that it’s not Psoriasis

Ahh thank you! He’s been using baby cradle cap shampoo but the chemist recommended something else. It seems to be working.

Yes it’s coming off in chunks with the hair stuck to the scabs

Massage a bit of olive oil in. Then comb through. Wash as usual and will be gone.
